VISAYAN Electric Co Inc (Veco), the power distribution unit of Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (AEV), said it is seeking to forge a 25-year contract for the supply of power with capacity of 200 megawatts sought.
Veco's franchise covers the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Talisay in central Philippines.
Veco is seeking offers from power producers to supply its requirements from from 2009 to 2034.
Conglomerate AEV earlier said it was looking at building new power plants to help avert a possible electricity shortage in central and southern Philippines.
